Western Selection PLC is an AIM (Alternative Investment Company) listed investment company.
The company's investments are split into two portfolios: a general portfolio, which is made up of small liquid holdings in large international businesses, and a strategic portfolio which is made up of more substantial stakes in small, potentially high-growth UK companies with whom the directors keep in close touch.
Western's objective is to produce long-term capital growth and an increasing dividend. The company's strategy is to achieve this through a combination of strategic investments and a general portfolio. Strategic investments are significant investments in smaller UK quoted companies and these are balanced by a general portfolio, which mainly consists of investments in major UK and International equities.
